My not-so-spare phone… the Samsung E1080T

This is my spare phone, the miniscule Samsung E1080T.

Well, this is the phone that I mostly use due to having a keypad and a long battery life. One complete charge on this phone can make it last for 2 to 3 days. There are no heavy features on this phone. Just basic texting and call features.

I am using my Samsung Jet as a multimedia device (music player, video player and camera), not to mention that typing and sending messages on a touch screen can be such a hassle.

Wow. After more than 3 months of being absent from blogging, I am finally back.

A lot of things happened in my life in these past months. But, the most unforgettable event that happened was losing my lola due to old age.

Anyways, this is a short note. Be back later.

Last Saturday early morning, before our Friday shift ends, Randy (my team leader) informed me that I passed (along with Camille Canadalla and Cecille Ong, both from team Randy, and the only 3 candidates from Wave 2) the initial interview with h.r. and that I am moving on for the final interview that will be administered by Humana’s local big bosses’ Jerick and Mike ( and possibly with Brian Wenrick). My schedule will be on Tuesday shift, technically Wednesday morning, around 1am.

I applied internally for the quality assurance representative position more than a week ago. I have always wanted to become a q.a.r., since it is my passion to teach and to interact.

Anyways, there are 4-5 seats available for the q.a.r. position in Humana. There are 6 of us who are vying for those seats. 3 from Wave 1 and 3 from Wave 2. It is a very tight competition. With me, hoping to get one of those seats. I am also praying that Camille and Cecille will get the positions.

Passing the initial interview is already an achievement for me. And I am so happy that I made TL Car, QA Mitch and Tea, Trainors Lee, Van and Ian and of course TL Randy proud.

We could not have TL Randy prouder since me, Camille and Cecille are from his team.

I am now gathering all the strength and wisdom for my final interview on Wednesday. And I do hope and pray that God will guide me through this process. I am doing this for Him, my family, my Omel, my friends and my colleagues.

Accessing F.E.P.S. is a sin?

After lunch earlier, around 2am (I’m working as a callcenter agent, if you do not know). Our trainor (for Level 2) informed us that, during training, we should only access websites or online resources that is related to what we are discussing inside the training room. She also added that we cannot access sites that are ALLOWED internally.

I was like “What on earth!? She was pertaining to me.”

Here is the scenario before lunch: We had a computer-based training and an online assestment. I was able to finish my c.b.t. and the exams about 10-15 minutes before 1am, our scheduled lunch. I reviewed my answers and browsed through some documents that we read prior to the assestments. Then, I accessed my F.E.P.S. and tinkered with it a bit (it is a website that we use for timekeeping). I noticed that someone was looking at me and what I was doing. It bothered me, for that person was like fixated at me for quite some time. But, the hell, I am not doing something bad or illegal. So, I continued accessing the site.

Anyways, all of us employees needs to access the site to clock-in and clock-out when we come in and out of work, and even during lunchbreak.

Then, after lunch, we were reminded of accessing “unnecessary” sites.

I have to react. I mean, I am not that insensitive nor stupid enough to not get the meaning of the reminder.

Some time later, I approached her and tried to confirm if she was pertaining to me. She just told me that she would not be making a comment about it. For me, her response is fair enough.

I am not mad at our trainor. I respect her so much and I owe her a lot.

What I am getting mad at is that, the topic of accessing such site should not even be brought up by that person. It is work-related, if not related to the topic.

I mean, COME ON! Give us some slack!

Would It Matter?

I am chatting with the people all over the world.

I met lots of people on the net.

Everybody has their own value for me.

I had chances to know gay people on net.

I cannot say I am understanding gays completely,

at least trying to understand them.

I am a straight man.

if you asked “What does gay mean?”

to me in a few years ago.

I could say

“a man who has a physical desire for other men”

In years, I met gays on the net, and

have an idea about those people.

if you ask “What does gay mean?” now,

I can say

a man who has to hide himself

to protect himself from the society,

a man who is rejected by the society,

a man who is trying to reject being a gay

behaving like a straight man,

a man who may be a close friend, a buddy and a father,

a man who may feel helpless and needs our help,

a man who may feel hopeless, needs us to give our support,

a man who feels lonely, needs us to share his loneliness

WHAT REALLY MATTERS?

My parents asked if I’m gay,

I said does it matter,

They said not really,

I told them yes I’m Gay,

They said get out of our lives,

I guess it mattered!

My Boss said are you gay,

I said does it matter,

My boss said not really,

I told my boss, yes I’m gay,

My boss said you’re fired queer,

I guess it mattered!

My friend asked if I’m gay,

I said does it matter,

My friend said no not really,

I told my friend yes I’m gay,

My friend said don’t call me friend,

I guess it mattered!

My lover said do you love me,

I said does it matter,

My lover said yes,

I told my lover yes I love you,

My lover said hold me in your arms,

For the first time something in my life matters.

God asked, Do you love yourself,

I said does it matter,

God said yes,

I said how can I love myself if I am gay,

God said because that is the way I made you,

Nothing will ever matter again.

My very first Perfect Service Score

Last Tuesday, August 25th of 2009, I learned that I got my second external (from an American-based quality assurance representative) quality score. But this time, I got a perfect score of 3.

My first quality score from an external qar is 2.4. The passing score is 2.7.

I was like “WOW”. At long last, I have proven myself to Humana that I can be an asset.

Sorry if I am bragging about this. I mean, come on, I came from a healthcare account prior to this one, which is Today’s Options, a competitor of Humana.

I never got a perfect score in quality with Today’s Options, but I always got a passing score.

Anyways, now that I have gotten a perfect score of 3, the hardest part of it all is maintening it.

Overtime Week

I just woke-up.

I was not able to blog much lately for it has been a stressful week. From Monday ’til Wednesday of this week, I rendered 2 hours of post shift overtime. Then, on Thursday, I rendered 1 hour of post shift overtime. Good thing, it is just voluntary. Hey, then how come I am complaining? LOL!

Come Friday, eventhough there is no overtime, I went home late since it was Nell’s birthday. He treated us with a bottle each of Red Horse (a beer brand).

Dude, how “complicated” is it?

I have asked this question several times already over at Plurk.

And just like what I have said… I consider guys who set their relationship status as “complicated”, gay. Well, most of them are gay, in my opinion.

I mean, it is easier to say that a guy is SINGLE or IN A RELATIONSHIP. So, why choose COMPLICATED?

If a guy is still courting a girl, technically, the guy is still SINGLE.

If a guy is in a relationship, but, having problems with it, technically, the guy is still IN A RELATIONSHIP. Unless, that guy really do wants to break-up with the girl, then, he would be SINGLE.

If a guy does not know what the real score is between him and a girl, then, that is the only time that his relationship status should be COMPLICATED. And that is the only acceptable situation for a guy to use that description.

But, knowing how straight guys are, most of the time they are assertive in their relationship status with a girl. So, some of them usually use IN A RELATIONSHIP already.

Or if a guy is proud to be not attached to a girl or feeling macho by wanting to meet more girls while in a relationship, that guy would choose SINGLE.

I mean, come on. If you are a straight guy, choosing COMPLICATED as your relationship status is just like putting yourself in a frying pan with hot oil in it. You do not want to attract attention from everyone by intruiging them with your relationship status.

Unless, you are a guy who is involve with another guy and that you just cannot expose your true self to the whole world. Thus, choosing COMPLICATED. Which is the usual case nowadays.
